Pioneer DJ has just announced a new Serato DJ 1.5.0 version of its existing DJM-900nexus Mixer called the DJM-900SRT. The new Pioneer DJM-900SRT will still retain all of the cool features of the 900nexus but with an internal Serato DJ Soundcard that is capable of Digital Vinyl Playback of up to four CD or vinyl timecode decks within the full new Serato DJ 1.5.0 software now with DVS control.

The Pioneer DJM-900SRT will still have all of the cool Sound Color effects, 13 beat effects, and the same X-Pad for easy effect manipulation, but the game changer is the inclusion of the new Serato DJ soundcard. It seems that the Traktor team is keen on making all of its own proprietary hardware these days instead of giving out Traktor Certifications to other manufacturers like in the past. The recently released DJM-750 from Pioneer didn’t have the expected Traktor soundcard and this step towards Serato shows Pioneer’s new direction. Everyone is expecting the Z4 sooner or later, but for now it seems Pioneer may be heading in the Serato direction. First, they produced the best controller for the Serato DJ software with the DDJ-SX and now it seems that Pioneer is aiming at also conquering the Serato DJ Mixer market with this new DJM-900SRT.

The DJM-900SRT will work with the newly announced Serato DJ 1.5.0 software which will slowly but surely replace the Serato Scratch Live DVS system. Check out our story on

for more information. The DJM-900SRT will work with up to four external Serato control CD’s or vinyl turntables for four decks of digital mixing pleasure.
