The wait is over!

It only took 2,114 days, but Kendrick Lamar's studio debut Section.80, released independently through TDE in 2011 before he signed a record deal with Aftermath and Interscope, has officially been certified Gold by the RIAA.

Save for his 2015 demo compilation untitled unmastered., the certification of Section.80 now makes Kendrick a perfect three-for-three in album certifications—not including his newly-released masterpiece DAMN., which is currently on pace to sell close to 500k first-week copies.

Kendrick's major label debut good kid, m.A.A.d city was certified Platinum in 2013, 10 months after it was released, as was his GRAMMY-winning follow-up To Pimp a Butterfly, which reached the one million sold benchmark in 11 months.

Along with four single certifications (three Gold, one Platinum), TDE's real top dawg now has a grand total of seven plaques... and counting.
