For most, strolling the streets of certain ‘hoods after dark is a terrifying prospect. All the predators lurking in the shadows of the urban jungle, however, are nothing to French Montana, as long as he’s strapped. To quote Mavado‘s hook on the latest street single off Montana’s Bad Boy debut album, “F*ck What Happen Tonight; I’ve got my gun.” Of course, it also helps that the emcee is rolling with a phalanx of rap’s most formidable soldiers; over Beat Bully‘s brass-laced production, the headliner is joined by Ace Hood, Snoop Dogg (who evidently isn’t bound by his alter ego’s No Guns Allowed policy) and Scarface. French Montana’s freshman set, Excuse My French, is scheduled to hit record stores and online retailers Tuesday, May 21. Next week, the rapper will be the subject of a “Outside the Booth” interview with DJBoothTV‘s own Jacques Morel.
