Kanye West - BLKKK SKKKN HEAD

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Kanye West and Daft Punk
Album:

More than a month after the release of his sixth studio album, Kanye West has finally deigned to unleash a single and video off the set. (New Slaves wasn’t released in a form that could be featured in the Booth, so I’m not counting it.) That doesn’t mean the iconoclastic rapper/producer is playing by the rules, though. Nick Knight‘s official visual accompaniment to BLKKK SKKKIN HEAD is presented without the traditional pause/play button and seek bar. Instead, we’re given the option to slow the action down to a crawl, speed it back up, and take snapshots of the action onscreen. Unless you seriously enjoy nightmares, I wouldn’t suggest dragging the cursor all the way to the left: depicting a CGI Kanye undergoing several monstrous transformations in between imagery of snarling dogs and black-hooded KKK members, the video is plenty disturbing enough at regular speed. BLKKK SKKKINHEAD can, of course, be found on West’s Yeezus LP, out now in stores and online.
