Year of the Woman

As the saying goes, if at first you succeed, try to do the same thing again. Ok, so that’s not exactly how the saying goes, but can you blame Kelly Rowland for trying to re-create the magic she found with Lil Wayne on Motivation? For their second go-around, ICE, Kelly uses a synth-driven and stripper-friendly beat from producer Detail to set the mood, letting the world know that her man’s love is so good it gives her the chills. You don’t have to tell Weezy how to attack a track like this and sure enough Tunechi delivers punchline-heavy rhymes that give ICE‘s cool attitude a little heat. While we’re still awaiting the official word on a release date and title for Rowland’s upcoming album, if ICE finds even a glimmer of the traction that Motivation did, you can expect both to arrive sooner than later.

Update: Kelly Rowland has released the Matthew Rolston-directed video for her Year of the Woman lead single.
